Check out your caravan insurance
If you know your car insurance is up to date and you are thinking of setting off on holiday with a touring caravan you should check your insurance documents to see if your policy covers your caravan.
There are different policies to cover cars and caravans. Some of the insurance providers will not include caravans as part of a standard policy.
If you have an accident while pulling a caravan on the road, it can be a terrible shock if there is no money available to pay out to compensate for injury or loss.
There is some good news however. There are insurers who have policies available on a third party basis for a caravan. However third party policies doe not cover for theft or any damage to the caravan.
It is important to check if the insurance policy has a paragraph stating you are covered for recovery of personal items. If you are unsure regarding any area on your insurance policy you need to contact your insurer to ask for more details of the benefits you are paying for.
